Apple will make billions in Pokemon Go


Apple will have USD $3 billion in revenue all thanks to Pokemon Go from users who buy PokeCoins from the App Store, according to Needhan & Co.

Pokemon Go, the augmented reality game from Japan’s Nintendo Co Ltd, can be downloaded for free but iPhone users can use PokeCoins to buy additional features.

Pokemon Go which you can download on the App Store for free, but users need to buy some PokeCoins in order to get premium features. A pack of 100 PokeCoins will cost 99 cents, but the price can be as high as $99.99 for a 14,500 PokeCoins.

“We believe Apple keeps 30 percent of Pokemon Go’s revenue spent on iOS devices, suggesting upside to earnings,” Needham analyst Laura Martin Pokemon Go already have 21 million active users in the United States alone, as of July 18, 2016.

This is less than two weeks of release, the said game which was already available in some 36 countries. Pokemon Go paid users are ten times than Candy Crush, the game from King Digital that generated $1 billion worth of revenue since 2013 and 2014.

Users in the US are spending more time playing the game than user Facebook or WhatsApp, according to the research from Sensor Tower.

Other retailers have seen a small bump in their sales for mobile chargers, powerbank, and other accessories that can help users play the game longer.
